Assessment Info

You don’t need to have had formal music lessons to study bass at HCM, or have studied music at GCSE level, learned music theory or attained a certain grade on the bass. You just need to live and breath music and have reached an acceptable level as a bass player.

There’s no requirement to audition for HCM diploma courses, but you will be invited to attend an initial assessment when you apply for either the Level 2 or Level 3 Diploma course in Bass. The session will be carried out by one of our diploma bass tutors who will assess your current skill level on the bass. This will also help us in the setting of goals and development of a long-term plan for you, if you decide to study with us.
