Assessment Info

You don’t need to have had formal singing lessons to study vocals at HCM music school, or have learned music theory, reached a certain singing grade or studied music at GCSE level. You just need to live and breath singing and have reached a competent standard as a vocalist.

When you apply for either the Level 2 or Level 3 Diploma singing course, you’ll be invited to HCM for an initial assessment, carried out by a diploma vocals tutor. They’ll gauge your level as a singer and, if you decide to study with us, this will also help with your long-term goal setting and plans for the future.
