HCM Milton Keynes is our music college in Buckinghamshire, offering RSL Level 2 and Level 3 music diplomas for those aged 16+ in Music Performance (Guitar, Bass, Drums, Vocals and Piano/Keyboards) and Music Production.
HCM Music College operates as part of the Milton Keynes College (MKC) campus on Chaffron Way, in the Leadenhall area of Milton Keynes. MKC is one of the fastest growing education providers in the UK, offering Further Education and Higher Education courses to a population of over 20,000 students across three campuses.
Life as a Milton Keynes College student
Predominantly providing training in performing arts, the care industry, business and engineering, the MKC Chaffron Way campus includes a multi-million-pound television studio and production gallery, Innovation and Technology Centre, multiple theatre spaces, study centre, library, Early Years Nursery, media room and IT centre. As well as having access to HCM’s high-tech industry-standard music facilities, as a HCM Milton Keynes student you’ll be able to take part in life as a MKC student too. This means being able to enjoy yourself at student events and making use MKC Chaffron Way’s amenities, such as two refectories for on-site refreshments and hot food, and outdoor facilities including a basketball court.

Music industry experience
As a diploma student at HCM Milton Keynes, you’ll participate in regular events, activities and opportunities designed to help you gain insight into the modern music industry and discover the way it works first hand. You’ll take part in real-world experiences like performance and songwriting masterclasses, backstage venue tours, Q&A sessions with artists and music professionals, and excursions to unique music events.
Diploma courses at HCM Milton Keynes are fully funded by the UK government for UK and EU students aged 16 to 18 years old*, and further funding options exist for those aged 19 to 23. The facilities at HCM Milton Keynes include four fully equipped rehearsal studios, dedicated space for live performance sessions, and a digital music production classroom complete with iMacs, midi controller keyboards and audio interfaces.
We work closely with leading instrument manufacturers to equip our rooms with professional gear by music brands including Orange, Marshall, Line 6, Vox, Peavey, Mapex, JBL, ProEL, Shure, AKG and Lewitt, as well as Roland TD and Yamaha DTX drum kits, Yamaha digital pianos, and a whole range of industry-leading software like Logic Pro X and Ableton Live.
