Ajit GillTeaches: Drums
Ajit Gill has been working in the music industry as a producer and drum tutor and has headlined stages at festivals around the country such as Glastonbury and Standon Calling. As well as touring around Europe as an experienced session drummer and drum technician
Ajits’s main project, a spiritual jazz funk band, Vertaal has just released their newest single ‘Shifting’, this followed on from the release of their first EP, ‘Spheric’ in 2017. Ajit has had multiple radio plays and interviews on BBC and TimeFM, as well as opening Woodfest Festival 2017. Ajit has previously headlined at many Sofar Sound London shows, alongside a Jazz Refreshed residency. He also recently performed at Ronnie Scott’s jazz club supporting Mark Guiliana followed by the Jazz Refreshed showcase at Jazz Cafe.
Further more, Ajit has played for a variety of artists and bands and worked with many songwriters and artists in the studio, producing and engineering sessions. Most recently Ajit has produced artist, Andy Wilsons’s new 12 track album, ‘Playing the Sun’ which is due for release in Spring 2019.
Currently Ajit is completing his final year studying drums at The ICMP in London on the BMus Music Performance degree course, taught by some of the biggest names in the music industry such as Gabor Dornyei and Xantone Blacq (Amy Winehouse’s Musical Director) and Richard Spaven.
