Chris Jenks

Teaches: Music Theory & Piano

Chris started learning the piano and violin when he was 5. He carried on studying for many years, graduating from conservatoire in 2001. He has played in bands, orchestras and ensembles and currently performs solo, in a jazzy duo and in function bands.

Chris teaches piano and keyboards, across all styles, tailoring the lesson as much as possible to the individual’s needs.

Chris started playing piano and violin at the age of 5, after which he moved to Italy where he embarked on a rigorous 10 year Conservatoire degree, graduating in 2001. Following that he attended the Nexus academy of contemporary music in the UK, which supplied him with invaluable skills for teaching and playing music in a contemporary environment.

Chris also holds a degree in the Communication area, together with other qualifications in the arts including both the PTTLS and Rockschool teaching Diploma’s.

He has attended Berklee Jazz clinics and master classes lead by Grammy-award winning Snarky Puppy, Jason Rebello (of Sting fame) and David Newton (13 times winner of the British Jazz awards), as well as performing in orchestras, ensembles and bands, playing at venues including Wembley Stadium, The Royal Albert Hall and the Bentley Hotel in London.

Chris also enjoys re-arranging popular tunes and some song-writing.
